Issue Position

For too long, politics here in Rhode Island has been an old boys' club and we need to restore people's trust in their elected officials. We don't need more lawyers, or more businessmen -- we need more women, more moms, more people (including men) from different backgrounds in order to have a legislature that looks more like our state.

Arriving at the State House, I wasn't sure what to expect. But I think I've been a critical voice for women and families. I'm one of the only moms with young kids in the House. Often when my colleagues and I are discussing issues, I'm the only parent raising young kids today, and facing what parents are facing today.
